Armenia EITI Multi-Stakeholder Group Meeting Held on October 30, 2025

On October 30, 2025, the regular meeting of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) of the Republic of Armenia was held under the chairmanship of Tigran Khachatryan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Chair of the EITI MSG.

The agenda included a report on the progress of implementation of the measures under the Mining Sector Development Strategy, discussion of a number of pressing issues raised by the MSG Civil Society Constituency, and programme-related matters concerning the implementation of the EITI Standard.

The meeting was conducted in an active working atmosphere and lasted longer than usual, with the aim of addressing all observations and comments raised by participants regarding the agenda items. The nearly three-hour discussion was attended by members of the MSG representing the government, extractive companies and civil society constituencies, as well as invited participants.

Following the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan issued relevant instructions to Asatur Vardanyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure; Gevorg Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Justice; and Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment.

The participants also discussed and agreed on several organisational matters related to the upcoming meeting of the EITI Board to be held in Yerevan.
