In January-September 2021, the amount of taxes paid by the first 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia amounted to more than 871.2 billion drams. This information was published by the RA State Revenue Committee.

9 metal mining companies are on the list of 1000 largest taxpayers for 2021 first 9 months, 3 of which; Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine, GeoProMiningGold and Teghut are in the top ten on the list. Other mining companies included are Charat Kapan, Lydian Armenia, Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine, Akhtala Mining and Processing Plant, Meghradzor Gold and Ler-Ex.

The total amount of taxes paid by the metal mining companies on the list of 1000 largest taxpayers amounted more than 81.2 billion AMD, of which 74.9 billion AMD had been paid to the tax authority and 6.3 billion AMD to the customs authority.

That amounted to about 9.3 percent of the total taxes paid by the first 1,000 large taxpayers. The VAT and excise tax returned to the unified account amounted to 34.8 billion drams.

For comparison.

For the same period in 2020, 9 metal mining companies were on the 1000 largest taxpayers list, the total amount of taxes paid by them was about 67.8 billion AMD, which is 13.4 billion less than the same indicator in 2021. The share of metal mining companies in the total amount of taxes paid by 1000 large taxpayers in 2020 was 8.6%.
